Has menopause
“aged” your skin overnight?

It really hasn’t. The changes you’re seeing look like sudden aging, but they’re not. During the menopause transition, the fat cells in your skin enlarge by roughly 15%. That enlargement shifts the skin from its usual repair-and-restore state into something more inflammatory — and the visible result is skin that weakens across the face, neck, and body faster than it ever has before.

This is a tissue-level change, but not a permanent one. The skin is highly responsive to the right inputs.

What you may be seeing:

  • A squaring of the jawline that wasn’t there a year ago
  • Loosening of the neck, sometimes with emerging bands
  • A general thinning of the skin on the chest, arms, and thighs
  • Cellulite that was manageable becoming more visible
  • An overall sense that “everything changed at once”

What Adipeau does for menopause skin

Adipeau targets contour uniformity — the smooth, even appearance of the skin. Menopause shifts the contour primarily by weakening the skin. The result is sagging and what can also appear as volume loss as the skin descends.

Strength Gel addresses sagging. Used across the full face and neck, it supports the appearance of firmer, more toned skin. For most people entering menopause, the Gel is where results are most visible and fastest.

Volume Cream addresses specific areas of hollowing. Used as a spot treatment on the temples, under- eyes, and sides of the mouth, it supports the appearance of fullness where volume has been lost.

Once your skin starts to strengthen and lift you may see small areas – around the eyes and mouth – that can benefit from the cream as well.

A different approach from estrogen creams

Estrogen creams target a single hormone. But more than a dozen hormones shift during the menopause transition, and the skin-level issue — inflammatory, enlarged fat cells — is driven by that broader hormonal shift, not by estrogen alone. Adipeau works at this broader level, which is why it can help regardless of whether you’re on HRT.

We’re not positioned against HRT — that’s a medical conversation with your doctor. We’re pointing out that the skin response to Adipeau doesn’t require HRT, and it works on something HRT doesn’t address.

What to expect

Firmer-looking skin often becomes visible within 4 to 6 weeks of consistent twice-daily use, with continued improvement over months. Fuller-looking skin develops on a longer timeline — 2 to 6 months or more.

Menopause is often the most gratifying phase to treat with Adipeau. The change is recent enough that the contrast with where you were a year ago is vivid, and the tissue is highly responsive.

Menopause skin FAQ.

How much do fat cells enlarge during menopause?

Research puts the increase at about 15%. That may sound modest, but a 10% increase in fat cell size can lead to more than a 100% increase in local inflammation. Small size changes have large consequences for how the skin looks and behaves.

Why does my jawline look squared off?

As the underlying tissue weakens, the skin loses its ability to hold the jawline’s natural definition. The fabric of the face gets heavier and pulls downward — which is why the jawline, cheeks, and nasolabial area tend to change together.

My neck changed fastest. Why?

Neck skin is thinner, less protected than facial skin and subject to more movement. It also gets less skincare attention over a lifetime. When the menopause transition hits, the neck is often where the weakening shows first and most.

Should I use the Gel on my body too?

Many women find that menopause-onset cellulite, upper-arm laxity, and chest lines from side sleeping all respond to the Gel. The face and neck are the usual starting points, but expanding to body areas once you’re seeing change on the face is reasonable.

Can Adipeau help alongside HRT?

Yes. Adipeau addresses the tissue-level skin problem (enlarged, inflammatory fat cells) regardless of hormonal status. Whether or not you’re on HRT, the skin response to Adipeau doesn’t depend on it.

How long until I see something?

Firmness changes typically show up in 4 to 6 weeks. Deeper tissue changes and fullness take longer — 2 to 6 months. Take photos every 2 to 4 weeks in the same lighting. The changes are much easier to see side-by-side than in the mirror.
