A smarter
approach to skin laxity.

Most firming skincare works at the surface. Saggy skin doesn’t start at the surface — it starts deeper.

When the fat cells in your skin are small and healthy, they support collagen and elastin production. When they enlarge and become inflammatory, they suppress collagen and elastin production by more than half. The skin’s connective structure weakens. The fabric of the face loses its tension. The result is what most people describe as sagging, jowling, or lax skin.

The biology underneath is still capable of rebuilding itself — even in older skin. What it needs is for the environment to be restored.

What you may be seeing:

  • Jawline losing definition
  • Nasolabial folds deepening
  • The fabric of the cheeks drifting downward
  • Skin that feels thinner, gathers easily, doesn’t snap back
  • The sense that what used to be taut now hangs

What looks like jowling before the age of 70 is almost always weak skin, not permanent tissue descent. It’s responsive.

What Adipeau does for skin laxity

Adipeau’s Strength Gel is designed around this specific problem. It supports the appearance of firmer, more toned skin by targeting the tissue-level source of laxity rather than the surface.

The Gel contains two primary actives:
PMFs (polymethoxyflavones) from Kaempferia parviflora, also known as black ginger. PMFs support healthy fat cell size and the skin’s normal renewal processes.
Omega-7, a rare fatty acid with toning and regenerative properties. Both work together to support the tissue environment the skin needs to rebuild its own strength.

Use it across the whole area, not just the weakest spot

This is the most common mistake with laxity: treating only the nasolabial folds, only the jawline, only the lines on the neck. The face is one connected tissue envelope. Strengthening one area while ignoring the surrounding skin doesn’t produce a visible lift.

Apply the Gel broadly — full face, jawline, neck. That’s how you see change.

What the clinical work shows

Published research on facial laxity and dermal fat cell size found that fat cell volume in the lower face explains sagging nearly as well as chronological age. The fabric of the face is only as strong as the tissue layer beneath it.

Imaging of users on Strength Gel shows documented improvements in:

  • Flattening of nasolabial folds
  • Tightening along the jawline
  • Softening of marionette and parenthesis lines

See the Clinical Evidence page for the full documentation.

What to expect

The feel of the skin often changes before the look does. In the first few weeks, users frequently notice the skin feeling more toned, more springy, less easily gathered — before the visible change catches up.

Firmer-looking skin typically becomes visible in 4 to 6 weeks of consistent twice-daily use. More significant changes, particularly on the neck and body, can take 3 months or longer. The neck tends to respond more slowly than the face because the starting condition is usually worse.

A note on what not to expect

The Gel doesn’t erase static lines that have been set into the skin for years. It supports the underlying tissue. As the tissue strengthens, folds and lines soften because the fabric tightens around them — but it’s a gradual change, not the sudden smoothing of a filler.

Skin laxity FAQ.

What causes skin to weaken in the first place?

Age is a factor, but fat cell size is just as important. Enlarged fat cells produce inflammatory signals that suppress the skin’s collagen and elastin production. The skin loses structural support, and the visible result is laxity.

Can collagen and elastin production come back?

Research suggests yes. When fat cell size is reduced, the suppressive signal drops, and the skin’s fibroblasts — the cells that make collagen and elastin — return to more normal function.

Don't caffeine and resveratrol also shrink fat cells?

They do, and that’s why they appear in cellulite creams and eye creams. But they also block the formation of new fat cells. Over time, the skin ends up with fewer cells that are still inflamed — which is why those products plateau and sometimes make things worse. The Gel works on both sides of the equation.

Can fat cells become too small?

No such risk has been identified in the research. The skin maintains its own blueprint for what belongs where, and the Gel supports that blueprint rather than overriding it.

How long does a tube last?

A Strength Gel tube used twice daily on the face lasts about 4 to 6 weeks. If your tube is lasting significantly longer, you may be under-applying or missing days — both common reasons for slow results.

Will my skin need this forever?

Most people benefit from twice-daily use for the first 3 to 6 months to build visible change, then scale back to a few times a week as maintenance. You don’t have to use it forever. If you stop, visible improvements fade gradually, as with any aesthetic improvement in appearance — not overnight.
